  • Real price data from MT5 XMTrading-MT5 3 server (5 years, ~30,000 H1 bars)
  • Grid search (50–500 combinations) for parameter optimization
  • Train(60%)/Test(40%) split to detect over-optimization

⚙️ BT lot settings (uniform across EAs)

  • Initial balance: ¥100,000 (≈$670) × fixed 0.01 lot
  • Simple 10y forecast: fixed 0.01 lot held for 10 years (measured annual return × 10)
  • Compound 10y forecast: theoretical value if switched to compound mode (risk %) as balance grows
  • Lot rounded down to 0.01 (XM Standard min-lot constraint)

⚠ Gap vs default (caution EAs)

The EAs below ship with a default RiskPercent lower than the BT setting. Actual returns may be lower than the compound forecast in the ranking:

  • GOLD Breakout (D1): default 0.5% (BT: 1.0%) → about half the live yearly return
  • GBPUSD Scalp (M15): default 0.5% (BT: 1.0%)
  • USDJPY (H4): default 0.7% (BT: 1.0%)
  • BTCUSD / GBPJPY: default 0.75% (BT: 1.0%)

💡 To match the ranking yearly return, set RiskPercent=1.0% manually. For high-volatility EAs we still recommend the default.

📖 Glossary

PF (Profit Factor): gross profit ÷ gross loss. >1.0 is profitable, healthy EAs run 1.1–1.8
DD (Drawdown): worst historical decline. Lower is safer
OOS robustness: how well Train performance carries to Test (robust = production-ready)
Curve fit: over-optimized EAs that only worked in the past (dangerous live)
Simple interest: fixed lot, simple but slow growth
Compound: lot scales with balance, explosive growth but compounded DD
MTF: multi-timeframe (analyzes several timeframes)
Martingale (Nanpin): averaging down on losses — mathematically blows up sooner or later

Q.Where can I get free MT5 EAs?▾
fxea365.com publishes verified MT5 EAs (Expert Advisors) for free. All EAs are available by registering an account with HFM, XM, or Exness (via a referral link). No deposit or trading is required.
Q.How is the ranking calculated?▾
We rank by a score that is a weighted average of four metrics: profit factor (PF), maximum drawdown, annual return, and walk-forward stability. EAs with negative expectancy are shown separately as low-rated.
Q.Which EA do you recommend for beginners?▾
The "GOLD EMA ATR EA," which you can start with a minimum of 30k JPY, is good for beginners. Its ATR-based SL/TP settings are designed to keep each loss within 1% of the account, and it recorded PF 1.41 and max DD 14.5% in a 10-year backtest.
Q.Why are there so many XAUUSD EAs?▾
XAUUSD (gold/dollar) has high volatility and produces clear trends, making it easy for EAs to profit. Its large daily range also means you can target sufficient profit with few trades.
Q.Can I trust the backtest results?▾
The GOLD series is run in the MT5 Strategy Tester's real-price (every-tick, real-spread) mode. RSI counter-trend and scalping types are backtested by resampling 10 years of Dukascopy M5 real data to H1 in Python. All of them undergo walk-forward validation to prevent curve-fit over-optimization.
